How Do We Glorify God?

Well, it’s been a while since I wrote a nugget on here. I have been documenting them in my journal. Yes, I know, I’ve been getting FAT, so, I have agreed to ‘slim down’ by sharing with you all šŸ˜.

I don’t know about you, but I have tried and CANNOT read the Bible. It doesn’t work for me. Sometimes I get stuck on one verse for days…and I meanĀ  DAAAAAYS! I have now settled with ‘meditating’ on His Word, instead. (Psalm 1:2 and Joshua 1:8) (Not the old law, but Kingdom Principles.)

I started reading John chapter 17, 3 days ago, but have been stuck on verse 3. Think about it: Christ died on the cross so that you and I, if we choose Him, will have life eternal with Him! It is so simple. All we have to do is to get to know God, that He is the Only True God and know Christ whom God sent. That’s it! There is nothing that you can do self-righteously to obtain eternal life, NOTHING! Read this with me:

John 17:3 Ā And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

I could go on, but you may get too fat šŸ˜‚ so I will leave you to meditate on that and explore it for yourself!

Although I am still stuck there, I attempted to read further, only to be stuck on verse 4!

John 17:4 I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.

You see, Holy Spirit and I have been discussing Magnification and Glorification. I want to Magnify and Glorify Him. Now, this is not simply with words, even though it has its place. Saying, ”I magnify and glorify you, Lord” is not actually Magnifying or Glorifying Him! ”What?” I hear you ask. These 2 words are verbs – action words, which means, you have to DO something. The statement which Christ made in the Scripture above is suggestive of what that action is. Obedience.

When we obey the instruction and guidance of Holy Spirit, the Lord is being Magnified and/or Glorified. When we read and apply His Word, the Lord is being Magnified. When we bless those that curse us, the Lord is being Magnified. Seeking to know Him deeper, Communing with Him daily, living a life that is pleasing to Him and not to yourself, operating in and by the fruit of the Spirit, will cause God to be Magnified and Glorified in and through us. Get the drift?

So, the next time you say, ”Lord, I magnify you,” think of ways you can action this.

Rejoice, knowing this, that Christ is in you, and He is the hope of glory.

  2. Hi, Cassie J! Iā€™ve taken to reading because Holy Spirit led me back here. Iā€™m getting exactly what I needā€”of course! Thank you for everything. I just celebrated 6 months cleanā€”not just stopping to then fall back to relapseā€”but supernaturally delivered by the grace of Godā€”which proved once againā€”it is sufficient! šŸ™ŒšŸ¾ Iā€™ve SEEN so much since but am still knocking. So glad He is Faithful!

This was a wonderful nugget! ā¤ļøšŸ¤— God bless you, Robert & the kids. šŸ„°
