In this Morning’s ‘In conversation with the Holy Spirit’, I said these two words to Him, ‘Speak, Lord,’ to which He replied, ‘I want you to do what I told you, as the week has passed and you wrote nothing.’ You see, I did not document the two things He instructed me to. I procrastinated!

He then concluded with, ‘My instructions are life!‘ OUCH! I had to ponder over this for a bit. He reminded me of the response He gave with regard to my children. Whenever I instruct, guide or correct them and they react in a negative way, we have the MOM’s discussion. Yes, that one! Why? Because I want them to learn and be equipped the right way.

I asked the Holy Spirit for help a few years ago and this was what came out of my mouth to them, ‘You are reacting as though I have ill-advised you, or I’m against you, or I want you to fail. No, I have not and I don’t! My instruction to you is for YOUR protection, YOUR betterment.’

This is what the Holy Spirit’s instructions, guidance and corrections are to us. They are for OUR protection against pitfalls and against the wiles and condemnations of the enemy. They are for OUR betterment, to grow right in our understanding of who we are, whose we are and how we should operate in our thoughts, our actions and our reactions.

God is prudent, He foresees evil and instructs, guides and corrects us so that we can be hidden in Him. We too should be prudent. If we follow His instructions, we will foresee evil and hide ourselves. {Proverb 22:3}

Obeying Holy Spirit’s instructions, strengthens us also. We can command from that place of strength and things will appear, move; situations or circumstances will shift or turn around. If we don’t follow or obey God’s instructions, how do we expect Him to obey ours?

We will end up in snares with wrong thoughts {thinking that God wants us to suffer}, wrong actions {not acting upon His instruction} and reactions {lashing out at God as though He caused calamity or the consequence for our lack of action, to happen to us}. For us to operate from Isaiah 45:11, we MUST follow the Holy Spirit’s instruction.

Thus saith the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, and his Maker, Ask me of things to come concerning my sons, and concerning the work of my hands command ye me.

Proverbs 4:20-22 says, 20 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. 21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. 22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. This shows us that when we attend unto God’s Words {carry out or do} , they are life to us and health to our flesh. His Instruction to us is a blessing!

Mark 12:30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. One of the ways to truly love the Lord is to follow His instruction, His guidance and His correction.

Love the Lord today, follow His instruction.

What I realize with myself is that I have to unlearn everything I knew before God.

I love Him but yet I have to learn how to trust Him.

I have to keep reminding myself that He is not like everyone else that has failed me in one way or the other. That has and continues to be an experience

    Sister Althea, we ALL do. There are things, even today, I acknowledged that I need to unlearn and start again.
    But the beauty of it is, that’s what the Holy Spirit wants us to do.
    Come to Him like a little child and He will mould and remake us. Jesus bless you.
