Mending Your Broken Heart

How does Jesus mend the broken pieces of your heart?

This was the question in my spirit as I sang the words to the song, “My Desire” by Kirk Franklin and Fred Hammond. In Conversation with the Holy Spirit three days ago, we were talking about desires {which is a WHOLE other Nugget}, when He placed this song in my heart.

Part of the the chorus says, I give you my heart, I know that you can mend these broken pieces. This posed the question above and so I asked Holy Spirit, how? Now, on the surface, according to the natural, regardless of what it is, you may not agree with His response. Please DO NOT hear what I am NOT saying. Your pain is Pain, but it doesn’t have to remain as pain. It can be healed, but it is down to You; how you deal with it, who you go to, who or what you lean on and the influencers/influences that shape your mindset.

He said, ‘You have to come to me, lay down your ALL and seek me. In you seeking me, you will find strength and you Will get healed.’ He then led me to the Scripture in Matthew 11:28-29, Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

True rest can only be found in Christ. We have to learn of Him, not because we want something or because we want to satisfy our fleshly desires, but we seek Him / learn of Him because He instructs us to and because we should. The Father loves it when we want to know Him for Him, and not just simply what we can get from Him.

Now, let’s break this down a little. Our thoughts need to be changed. Holy Spirit is the only one who can correct our this if we allow Him to. By correcting our thoughts, the way we think to the way He wants us to think, they {our thoughts} will be in line with His Word. In other words, our thoughts must surrender to His in order to be in alignment with His Word.

What are you pondering on? Matthew 6:25-34 is a brilliant applicator which corrects our thoughts and sets us up for Kingdom provision one of which is healing; in this case, the healing of our minds.

Psalm 51:17, The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

Psalm 34:18-20, The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. 19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all. 20 He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken.

Let’s take someone who suffered the loss of a family member. Their thoughts are filled with pain. If they stay in their own thoughts, this will lead to more pain and eventually, bitterness. Whether you are a believer or not, this can lead to bitterness against God.

If we draw near to the Father and look to Him for His mind and thoughts, {Isaiah 55:8-9, For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts}, He will give us His peace, not as the world gives, but His peace passes ALL understanding. {Philippians 4:7}

To sum this up then; trust Holy Spirit to lead you to the healing He has for you. Man’s healing is temporal and will not last, but according to Isaiah 55:10-11 and12(a), God’s Word will NOT return to Him void, but it will accomplish and prosper in that which He sent it.
