My Brother’s Helper

This morning, the Holy Spirit led me to read Joshua chapter one. There were so many nuggets in there which blew my mind, but I was led to share this one.

So, God told Joshua that Moses was dead and he, Joshua, had to arise! Woooo, ARISE, even that instruction in itself is powerful, but that is a whole other nugget! For this nugget, we are looking at verses 12-15, where Joshua addresses  two and a half tribes: the Reubenites, Gadites and half of the Manasseh tribe.

1Your wives, your little ones, and your cattle, shall remain in the land which Moses gave you on this side Jordan; but ye shall pass before your brethren armed, all the mighty men of valour, and help them;

15 Until the Lord have given your brethren rest, as he hath given you, and they also have possessed the land which the Lord your God giveth them: then ye shall return unto the land of your possession, and enjoy it, which Moses the Lord‘s servant gave you on this side Jordan toward the sunrising.

These two verses are powerful and profound, why? Because, even though these tribes were given rest (they already had their promised land), they were instructed to not only fight with their brethren, but to take the lead UNTIL God gave the others possession of their promised land!!!

Woooooweeeee!!! Did you see that?? We are supposed to HELP our brethren (once we receive our promised land / freedom from God), until they receive their promises and rest!

This help could be in the form of intercession, wisdom, understanding of a physical or paradigm shift, whatever it is, don’t stop UNTIL they receive theirs.

Oh, I am soooo excited because we will become more Christ-centred and Not self-centred! This is key to having or attracting and keeping the abundance of God’s Kingdom provision/blessing flowing to and through us.

Whether it be gifts or fruit of the Spirit, or God’s favour surrounding us like a shield, it will be a continuous flow of God’s faithfulness and goodness, to overflow! Glory to God!!!!

Be your brother’s helper.
