Routine Worship

Routine should not be a chore. It is not forced, it is simply encouraged. Once you make the choice to routine your worship, it becomes a part of you.

This is what the Holy Spirit said to me in our quiet time this morning, “It is I who gives you the desires you should have in your heart. You have your own desires but those are not what you should seek after. My desires lead you to seek My Kingdom and when you seek My Kingdom, your heart’s desires will become in line with mine and then, you shall have them.

“People see my desire for routine worship as a chore or a side dish instead of the main course. Instead of making the salad the main course (worship), it is the last thought or optional side course.” When He said this to me, I felt hurt. Can you feel His pain?😢

Just like seeds sown by the wayside, if we have more food on our plate (cares or busyness of this life) than salad (worship), then eventually, Christ will be choked out of us. Mark 4:19 says, And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.

We can make time for earthly responsibilities but our heavenly or Kingdom responsibilities are not prioritized or, for the most part, neglected.

Imagine if worship was a permanent routine, an essential staple around which we plan everything else? This would draw so much to us. We would be a magnet for the presence and benefits of the Kingdom of God! Cue Mat 6:33, But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

What an incredible posture that would be! We would be walking, talking, demonstrative powerhouses!!! Mark 4:20 And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.

Let us be encouraged to make worship the main course of our daily lives, the routine around which everything else is planned.

Take away thought: It is more blessed to give (give worship) than to receive (worldly achievements or satisfaction).

  1. This is so true. The power of worship.
When I first came to God this bought me closer to him. I felt like I was floating in his presence and his love surrounded me.
